The Vancouver Island Poker Run Society is a proud supporter of Tour De Rock & Cops for Cancer

Hey Everyone!

Thanks to the continued support of the participants and sponsors of the VIPR Poker Run we were able to donate $1,000 to the Tour De Rock & Cops for Cancer from the proceeds of our 2009 Poker Run.

The cheque was presented to Constable Kevin Shaw who was in the 23rd hour of a 24 hour continuous bike ride. Over $8,000 was raised during his ride and we were extremely proud to be making this donation of behalf of VIPR and all of you who support our poker run.

The Vancouver Island Poker Run Society is a non-profit organization and it's goal is to support various charitable organizations such as the Tour De Rock, The Sidney Food Bank and The Boys and Girls Club.

The merchants of the Town of Sidney were extremely generous with their sponsorships and donations of door prizes at the VIPR Poker Run this year and this was a fantastic opportunity for all of us to give back to our community.

A big Thank You to all of you for supporting the Vancouver Island Poker Run! We look forward to seeing you all in 2010!

The Vancouver Island Poker Run society is pleased to announce its upcoming eleventh annual Poker Run on June 19th 2010. Reunite with old friends, make new friends and enjoy cruising through the spectacular Gulf Islands while flexing your marine muscle. This event has gained tremendous popularity over the past years and promises a great day of fun in the sun while supporting worthy causes. Everyone is welcome and you do not need a go fast boat to enjoy this event.

As always we will be visiting some great ports of call on the run; click here to see this years route. Thetis Island will be our lunch stop and a barbecue buffet lunch including BBQ Chicken, Ribs and assorted salads will be served at the Thetis Island Marina & Pub. There is plenty of dock space for everybody and they also have a fuel dock for those of you that need to top up your tank.

Some of our participant's boats are approaching speeds of 150 miles per hour so whether you are here to flex some muscle or just float on the sidelines, suck up some sunshine and take it all in, this day always proves to be a horsepower junkie's wet dream.

After a day of adrenaline we head back to Sidney to moor the boats and then it's up to the Capital City Yacht Club for dinner and the fifth and final card. After dinner are the trophy awards, playing of the poker hands and a night of socializing and partying with old and new friends. Boondock's will be staying open late to host those of you who would like to continue socializing after the awards banquet.

We look forward to seeing you on the water!!
